The Colgate Inn located at 1 Payne Street is one of the area's finest Inns.Originally opened in 1925, the Dutch-colonial style Colgate Inn is a focal point of the historic village of Hamilton.  In 2010, Colgate University undertook an $8.9 million renovation of the property including entirely updated guest rooms, redecorated dining and tavern areas, a new back lobby, a remodelled front desk area, a central location of the kitchen area; and new restrooms on the first floor.
